The First Gold Medal Award at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition

According to the "Medical and Pharmaceutical Records of Shandong Province," Hongjitang Ejiao received the highest commendation gold medal at the Shandong Provincial Commodity Exhibition in 1914 and the First Gold Medal Award at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915.

"Hongjitang Ejiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin) selects domestic donkey hides, establishes a research center for the molecular identification of Chinese medicinal sources, and Jinan City Gelatin DNA Source Identification Center. It uses DNA technology to test every piece of donkey hide to ensure the authenticity of medicinal materials through a traceability system. In 2022, it was shortlisted for the first batch of “Good Products of Shandong."

Standard formulation

It has taken the lead in drafting the first local standard for the donkey-hide gelatin traceability system, titled "Guidelines for Design and Implementation of Donkey-hide Gelatin Traceability System," participated in the formulation of the group standard "Quality Specifications for Donkey-hide Gelatin" by the China Association of Chinese Medicine, and published standards such as "Hongjitang Authentic Ejiao Standard" and "Authentic Ejiao Quality Control Specifications." Its Chinese medicinal material traceability system has been included in the "Collection of Typical Cases of Important Product Traceability System Construction" by the Ministry of Commerce of China. Hongjitang also played a leading role in drafting local standards such as the "Construction and Operation Specification of Smart Chinese Medicine Pharmacy" in Jinan City and the "Quality Management Specification for Operation of Smart Chinese Medicine Pharmacy" by the Shandong Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

R&D Platform

Hongjitang has deepened its path of production-learning-research-medical collaboration by establishing the Hongjitang Central Research Institute as its research system platform. This institute includes research institutes such as the Jinan Research Institute, Hengqin Research Institute, Macao Research Institute, and Functional Food Research Institute. Hongjitang currently holds 151 drug approval numbers, covering 10 dosage forms, 10 exclusive product specifications. Among them, 10 products have been recommended for the treatment of COVID-19 by the National Health Commission and the Shandong Provincial Health Commission. 35 products are listed in the National Essential Medicines List, and 90 products are included in the medical insurance catalog. The products include Chinese patent medicines, traditional Chinese medicine decoctions, raw materials, gelatinous Chinese medicines, and functional foods. AnGong NiuHuang Wan ranks among the top five in the industry, and Xuefu Zhuyu Oral Liquid is shortlisted in the "Inter-provincial Alliance of Traditional Chinese Medicine Concentrated Volume Purchase". Jinming Pian, Fufang Xiling Jiedu Capsules (tablets), and other drugs have been included in Shandong Province's "Class B Drug Management" "COVID-19 Drug Use Directory".
